Social Ministry

Joshua House

We are one of eight congregations in the area working together as Joshua House in Farmingdale. It provides food, clothing, baby items and some furniture to less fortunate families. There is a church-shaped box in the narthex for donations.

Lutheran Social Ministries

We are linked to other Lutheran congregations in the state through Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey. To find out more, go to LSM/NJ’s Web site.

Howell Township Emergency Food Pantry

A food barrel in our narthex is provided for donations of non-perishable foods.

Interfaith Hospitality Network of Ocean County

We recently joined this coalition of congregations who support homeless families and help them move into their own quarters.

Lakewood Soup Kitchen

Several of our members regularly volunteer to work at the soup kitchen, which is operated from a church in Lakewood.

The Giving Tree

Through Howell Township Youth and Family Services we provide children in our community and congregation with gifts at Christmas they might otherwise not receive.

Love Loaves

Each year we have a campaign to fill “Love Loaves,” bread-shaped coin boxes provided by Church World Service. Half of what is collected goes to their international relief work, half stays in our area.
