Joining a church club or group is a great way to meet new people and get involved in an activity you enjoy.
MUSIC PROGRAM: Do you sing, play an instrument, or have directing ability? We
have two music ministries: The Voice Choir and our Handbell Choir which is led
by Alexandra Hildebrand. We are temporarily without a Music Director at this time.
BOWLING TEAM: Knocking over pins with balls is the excuse some members have
for weekly socializing. They are part of the mixed Church League which bowls each Monday during the regular season at Howell
Lanes. Contact Ken French, 732-905-6799.
WOMEN’S SOCIETY: You can be a part of the life of the Church beyond
our congregation by joining the Women’s Society. Each month the ladies gather to review progress and plan projects such
as New Eyes for the Needy (which recycles eyeglasses), mite boxes (collected coins to fund ministries in New Jersey and around
the world), and fund-raisers for the congregation’s special needs. There is also time for devotions, food, fellowship,
and programs of interest. Their worldwide programs are through the society’s affiliation with the Lutheran Women’s
Missionary League.
ALTAR GUILD: If you enjoy seeing worship done well, the Altar Guild is the
place for you. Members prepare the altar, candles, and sacramental ware. They set out books, give flowers to donors, change
paraments, and clean appointments. Their work is the necessary but overlooked preparation for worship to be enjoyable and
meaningful. Contact Altar Guild Director Lisa Tess, 732-905-0687, for more details.
USHERING STAFF: Do you like to make people feel at home? There’s a
place for you on our ushering staff. Rotating monthly, teams greet worshipers, provide assistance, receive offerings, and
usher to communion (among other duties). See usher captains to join a team or call our Head Elder, Don Grayce at 732-901-0258.
TELLERS LIST: Members balance the offerings
and send reports on to our secretary for data entry and treasurer for bill paying. This is one job you can do simply by staying
after church on Sunday morning!
LECTOR LIST: Members read the first two lessons for services at which there
is no Elder. If you can read and speak clearly, the lectern is the place for you.
